    Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, The research in the financial socialization and financial education of children on the basis of the financial capability concept, 基盤研究(C)(一般), 01 Apr. 2018 - 31 Mar. 2021, Competitive research funding, 本研究の目的は、子どもが市場経済における金融活動の主体として、どのように社会化・ 主体化されていくのかを金融ケイパビリティの形成という視角から明らかにし、現行の金融 教育の機能・効果の評価とその改善に向けた基礎的な知見を得ることである。金融社会化は 生涯にわたる継起的なプロセスであるが、本研究では主体形成プロセスの展開軌道に大きな 影響を与えている可能性が高いにもかかわらず研究蓄積が世界的に見ても薄い前思春期(10 ~13歳ぐらい)の子どもに焦点を絞り、発達初期の金融ケイパビリティの構造とそれを取り 巻く形成要因との関係を分析する。子どもの金融社会化の主たる場としての家庭環境のみな らず、近年、大きな政策課題となりつつある(学校における)金融教育の場も分析対象に含 めることで、今日的な金融社会化プロセスの全体像を把握するとともに、政策的介入のため の基盤となる知見を提供することを目指す。

    as Vocational Education: Focusing on the Differences from Home Economics Courses of Senior High Schools

Division of comprehensive educational science, 76, Research paper (bulletin of university, research institution), 18804306, The purpose of this study was to clarify what kind of function as vocational education the students themselves perceive in their studies at a fashion professional training college, and whether there is gender issues involved. The research method was semi-structured interviews with 9 first-year students (2 boys and 7 girls) attending a fashion professional training college in Tokyo. The survey was conducted in September 2020 and September-October 2021. The analysis revealed that the students were enrolled in the college because of their interest in fashion and expected to learn specialized knowledge and skills
    directly related to fashion-related professions. Students perceived the fashion industry to be an industry where income is unstable, women predominate, and most successful workers are men. In home economics courses of senior high schools, it was clear that in many cases, both students and teachers were exclusively female, and that there was a difference in the skills acquired from fashion professional training college, which use tools for home use and industrial tools. Students enter professional training college to learn skills directly related to their occupations, but since there is no official vocational qualification for fashion, they feel that the connection to their occupations is weak and insecure. In addition, they felt that there was no difference between men and women in the fashion industry, but this was thought to be due to the contradictory situation in which there are many women but only men who are successful, which made them feel that there was no difference.

The variables to be examined concern parental involvement for children's financial socialization, conversation between parents and children, children's financial literacy and so forth. The OLS regression models are estimated by gender in order to clarify the gendered structure of financial socialization. The way in which parents give pocket money and the manner to manage pocket money have no statistical significance in neither male nor female models; parental disciplinary practices at financial behaviors have no impact on children's financial self-efficacy. While none of the types of conversations between parents and children is statistically significant in male models, female models show a significant figure only on the conversation about one's own career expectation. There exists gender difference in the influence of the degree of understanding of economic terms as well. In sum, the results suggest that financial socialization processes through which children's financial self-efficacy is facilitated have a different structure by gender under the influence of gender role consciousness in home environment.
  • On factors which determine the subjective degree of understanding of economic terms among sixth-grade elementary schoolers

    状態を調査した研究は少ない。本研究では経済知識の理解度を測定するために9つの経済生活に関わる用語を取り
    上げ,小学6年生910名に対して各用語の理解に対する主観的な自信の程度(主観的理解度)を4件法で尋ね,主成
    分分析を用いて尺度値を構成した。これを従属変数とする重回帰分析を行い,理解度に影響を及ぼす要因を探った。
    独立変数として,金融的な習慣行動,文化資本,通塾日数,親子間の会話,金融自己効力感に関する項目などをモ
    デルに投入した。また,金融社会化のプロセスがジェンダー化されているかどうかをみるために,男女別の分析を
    行った。分析結果として金融的な習慣行動の多くが主観的理解度に効果を与えていなかったこと,通塾日数や新聞
    読書習慣など学校外で経済的知識を伝えるメディアへの接触度は正の効果を持つこと,親子間の会話は,その話題
    によって効果が異なること,金融自己効力感という金融リテラシーの非認知的側面は主観的理解度という認知的側
    面と相関をもつことが明らかになるとともに,性別により経済社会化のプロセスに質的な違いがあることを示唆す
    る結果が得られた。

  • How do elderly care professionals get their job?: A case of the managers of group-homes for the elderly with dementia

The data analyzed here was collected by the authors with a nation-wide mail survey to the managers of a group-home for the elderly with dementia. The managers are categorized into three types in terms of how to get their managerial jobs: via the internal labor market, the external labor market, and start-ups. Gender, age, and educational attainment The legal status of a group-home is also a significant factor which structures the labor market from the demand side. Contrary to Granovetter's weak tie hypothesis, the information flow in the external labor market of elderly care professionals depends much upon strong ties which pertain to their professional career.
  • Marketization of care, emotional labor, and burnout of careworkers: A nationwide survey of employees working in group homes for the elderly with dimentia

The Long Term Care Insurance, launched in 2000, is a policy response to develop “the socialization of elderly care” through the introduction of the quasi-market mechanism into a social welfare system. This study aims to examine the impact of the marketization of care services provision on the quality of care. 1382 careworkers who are employed in group homes are mail-surveyed with regard to their working conditions, burnout, emotional work and so forth. The average scores of burnout scale vary in the legal status of the enterprises running a group home, but the result of regression analysis suggests the insignificance of the legal status factor, referring to for-profit/non-profit principle of a care services organization, after controlling workers profile, career commitment, emotional work characteristics, and social supports in organization. In the final section, factors affecting the burnout of group home careworkers, particularly for-profit/non-profit principle, are discussed.
  • A new representation of productive consumers in the service economy.
    Jan. 2007, 松川誠一, only, Bulletin of Tokyo Gakugei University, Humanities and Social Sciences II, 東京学芸大学紀要出版委員会, 58, Research paper (bulletin of university, research institution), This study sheds light on a body of theories called "postmodern marketing," which appeared in the 1980s, and analyzes the discourse concering the concept of consumption and consumers in their works. The literature on postmodern marketing insists on the emergence of a new production community which blurs over the categorical boundary between production and consumption, contrasted with the traditional way of thinking about the dichotomy in the field of marketing. The new consumers are regarded as a significant active player of service production. In such discourses on "productive consumers" it is consumers' self-identity to be produced in service production processes and they are described as being emotional in essence. The author concludes that the discursive production of the new consumer in postmodern marketing theories is an extension of corporate culturalism under the influence of the cultural logic of the global capitalism.

  • 子どもの物質主義的傾向には何が影響しているのか:ジェンダー視角からの分析
    04 Sep. 2021, 57th Annual Conference of the Japan Society of Economic Sociology, Oral presentation(general),  物質主義は、物の所有に対して単なる経済的な意味とは異なる人生上の大きな意味を付与する態度・価値観である。BelkやRichinsらは物質主義を個人的な偏差をもった心理学的な概念として捉え、個人レベルでの物質主義的な傾向が人々の様々な行動に結びついていることを明らかにしてきた。本報告では、経済社会化の初期段階にある10歳代前半(小学5年生~中学1年生)の子どもの物質主義的態度に焦点を当て、その強さを規定する要因を明らかにする。
     利用するデータは、小5から中1の子どもを持つ母親とその当該子のペア2874組からウェッブ調査票を通して2020年3月に収集されたものである。
     推定されたOLSモデルの目的変数は、Richinsによる物質主義尺度を参考にして日本の子どもの状況に合わせて修正を施した5項目からなる尺度を構成し、その合計値を利用した。説明変数としては、(1)家庭の社会経済的状況に関する変数群、(2)母親による金銭的なしつけに関する意識・行動に関する変数群、(3)親子関係に関する変数群、(4)子どもの購買関係活動に関する変数群、(5)子どものジェンダー意識、(6)子どもの性格(不安傾向、自己効力感)に関する変数群を投入した。統制変数として学年を利用し、また、金銭的なしつけが性別役割分業意識に影響されている可能性を考えて、男女別にモデルを推定した。
     推定結果から子どもの物質主義的傾向は、①男女に共通する要因と性別により異なる要因から影響を受けていること、②家庭の社会経済的状況や金銭的なしつけ行動からはあまり影響を受けていないこと、③子どもの金融的エージェンシーのあり方やジェンダー意識、性格的な要素から相対的に強い影響力を受けていることなどが明らかとなった。

    20 Oct. 2019, 日本特別ニーズ教育学会第25回研究大会, Oral presentation(invited, special), 子どもの貧困に対する社会政策上の関心(の一つ)は、貧困の世代間連鎖にある。特に幼年期の貧困は影響力が大きく、介入効果も大きいと考えられている。他方、介入のための制度設計の面では、就学前児童に対する介入は難しく、小学校段階の方が有利である。具体的な介入方法を設計・評価する際には、子どもの貧困をbio-psycho-socialな複合体として考えることが必須であり、また、議論の前提となっている家族像に対しても注意を払わなければならない。
