1960 Born in Sendai City.
1986 Completed the Graduate Course of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts.
1991 Won a prize in the Silk Road Competition of Composition for Orchestra.
1995 Selected in the 17th Japan Symphony Foundation Composition Award.
2000 Won the Original Stage Work Prize special award (Agency for Cultural Affairs)
2001 Selected in the 23th Japan Symphony Foundation Composition Award.
2005 Won the Asahi Composition Awards for Wind Orchestra and Chorus (wind music and chorus suite)
2008 First prize in the 2nd Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra Composition Competition.
2010 21th Akutagawa Award for Music Composition.
Studied under Masao Homma, Akira Kitamura, Yoshio Hachimura, Hiroaki Minami, Teizo Matsumura, and Toshiro Mayuzumi.
Currently: Professor,Tokyo Gakugei University. Member of the Japan Society for Contemporary Music, the Japan Federation of Composers.
