• Current State of Research and Teaching Activities

  　日本とドイツ語圏における音楽教育の比較研究を継続して行っています。特にオルフ・シュールヴェルクと多元美学教育の日本における展開に，即興・創作，ことばと音楽との関連に着目して取り組んでいます。
  　ザルツブルグ（オーストリア）とミュンヘン（ドイツ）の研究者と共同研究・研究交流を行っており，本学に招聘してセミナー・公開レッスン・演奏会なども実施しています。また，学生などと渡欧しドイツ・オーストリアで合同授業や学会における研究発表も行っています。
  　音楽演奏では，ピアノリサイタルを定期的に開催しており，ドイツリートなどの伴奏なども行っています。ゼミの学生と，学会・各種学校・公民館などでさまざまな形態での演奏の機会も設けています。
  　本学の合唱講座とそれに関する出版が縁で，谷川俊太郎氏から多数の合唱楽譜の寄贈を受け，ゼミの学生と整理・準備した文庫《声のオーロラ》が附属図書館２階で閲覧できます。

  of music analysis of German-language songs and furthermore to look at the intensification of students' song interpretation
  achieved through musical analysis. The pieces chosen for the analysis are "Das Veilchen" K 476 and "Der Zauberer" K 472 by
  W. A. Mozart, which are regularly studied in singing lessons for music pedagogy training.
  Dobretsberger from the Mozarteum University Salzburg conducted a music analysis class at Tokyo Gakugei University, and
  Nakaji and Ishizaki then conducted a questionnaire survey among the students who sang the songs in the music analysis class. The evaluation of the questionnaires showed a deeper understanding in the students' interpretation of the songs.
  A specific technical vocabulary is required to analyze songs, i.e. terms such as strophic song, varied strophic song and
  through-composed song should be familiar. Before immersing yourself in the musical analysis of a song, it is essential to study the poem set to music. Several aspects of the text are of interest for the later setting to music: a) number of stanzas, b) number of verses per stanza, c) rhyme, d) rhythm, e) onomatopoeic aspects, f) possibilities of interpretation (e.g. metaphors, ambiguity of words). After that, the focus is on the musical structure: a) meter, b) key, c) register or range of the singing part, d) register of the piano part, e) references to the text, f) special characteristics of the intervals, g) structure and meaning of the motifs, h) articulation, i) dynamics, j) Etc. Some central aspects were selected and analyzed from these keywords, depending on the particular compositional design of the two songs. Musical rhetoric and symbolism play a special role in "Das Veilchen" and "Der Zauberer", and the key characteristics also deserved special attention, as parallels to Mozart's operas could be identified here. The returned questionnaires showed that the students had developed an understanding of the importance of musical rhetoric and German prosody through the process of analysis and that this had changed both their own artistic interpretation and their practice methodology. Throughout, the music analysis class provided many positive impulses for the students. A future task would therefore be to consider how music analysis can be integrated into the curriculum of teacher training in Japan, taking into account the limitation of human resources (number of teachers). In any case, it should be discussed to introduce musicanalysis into the group singing lessons that are part of the music pedagogy study program in Japan.

• Research About In-Depth Comprehension of Musical Interpretation: Through Music Analysis in Music Pedagogy Education: Changes in the Students' Performance After a Musical Analysis of W. A. Mozart's "Fantasy in C-Minor K475".

Division of Arts and Sports Sciences, 75, Tokyo Gakugei University, 75, 75, Research paper (bulletin of university, research institution), 2434-9399, This study examines, from an interdisciplinary perspective under consideration of the three subjects' musicology, piano lessons, and musical pedagogy, how music analysis can deepen the students' interpretations in music pedagogy education. At the center of the study was W. A. Mozart's "Fantasy in c-minor K 475". At first, five students at the Tokyo Gakugei University analyzed the Fantasy themselves, then they took part in a seminar about musical analysis by Dobretsberger. Afterwards, Noda observed the students' changing piano interpretations, that is, the difference before and after the seminar about musical analysis. In addition, he gave an interview about musical analysis. Lastly, Noda and Nakaji reflected on the results of both the musical analysis and the seminar, as well as the role of musical analysis in teacher education in Japan.
  In the music analysis seminar, the Fantasy was analyzed with an emphasis on "storytelling" and "musical rhetoric", which is an uncommon approach to research in Japan. The Fantasy was formally segmented into seven parts depending on changes in speed and character. This musical piece was arranged in a free and improvisatory manner, as the historical development of the category "Fantasy" suggests. The form of the Fantasy K 475 can be considered a "series form" or a "frame form", because the concluding part shows the same repetitive characteristics as the beginning. Al in al, the Fantasy can be labeled a" small opera" and analyzed as such, as coherences between the Fantasy and the opera "Don Giovanni K 527", which premièred in 1787, can be found, as well as the fact that it is characterized by a change between Arioso-parts and prelude, interlude, and postlude.
  Even though for the students it was more or less a first encounter with music analysis, the following four results were reflected:
  1) Recognizing the necessity of music analysis
  2) Comprehension of and interest in musical rhetoric
  )3 Comprehending and recognizing functions of harmony and key characteristics
  4) Comprehending other works by the same composer as well as the composer's historical background and the background
  or decomposition
  This leads to the conclusion that music analysis deepens the students' interpretation and their comprehension of this piano
  work. Moreover, their attitude towards their own piano playing has been changed. Not only through intuitive feelings, but also through rational understanding and rational knowledge they are able to interpret a piano piece convincingly.
  Further tasks are as follows:
  1) How can we tackle challenges in piano technique order to bring to life one's own perception, which is inspired by music analysis?
  2) How can music analysis be integrated into piano lessons, which are offered only to a limited extent in Japanese teacher training?
  This issue might be solved by implementing group lessons, where exercises revolving around music analysis run parallel to practical piano lessons.

  　戦後のドイツ語圏における代表的な音楽教育論のひとつに数えられる、Wolfgang Roscherが提唱した多元美学教育論の日本における教員養成教育および教師教育における可能性に関して論じた。統合的音楽教育論の実践の中心に、ことばと音楽による即興表現を位置づけ、日本とドイツ語圏における５つのプロジェクトを解釈学的方法の省察によって論じた。また、その理論的基礎として即興の教育的意義、日独音楽教育における文化交流の推移を教材・基準教育課程の分析した。
